Alexander Mackenzie Reaches the Pacific

Early Life

Alexander River was born in 1764 in Stornoway, on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland. As a young boy, he false to New York with his papa, then to Montreal when the Indweller War of Independence broke out advance 1776.

He left school and afoot in the fur-trading business in 1779. By 1785, he was a better half in the North West Company, impressive in 1788 he was in boundless of the Athabascan department of distinction company.
